Heartlight Preschool is a Waldorf-inspired haven for young children. The preschool serves children ages three to five; the summer program is for four- to eight-year-olds.  The preschool is located in a separate guest cottage at a residence on a lovely and well-equipped, private two-acre property on 80th Ave. SE near East Olympia.

Ellen McKinley, owner and operator, is a lawyer whose goals and aspirations changed when she became acquainted with the joys of motherhood in 1998.  As she endeavored to provide opportunities for her daughter to experience a joyful and meaningful childhood, she discovered a thirst in her own soul being quenched through exposure to the principles of Waldorf education.  She spent five years in Waldorf early childhood classrooms before opening Heartlight in 2005.
